Father George Kruzick
Father Kruzick was born in Toluca, IL on March 27, 1927. He attended Purdue University, Lafayette, IN; St. Benedict’s College, Atchison, KS; and Conception Seminary, Conception, MO before being ordained by Bishop Byrne on May 28, 1961 in St. John Church, El Dorado, KS. Fr. Kruzick was an assistant in Derby; Christ the King Parish, Wichita; St. Francis of Assisi Parish, Wichita; St. Mary’s Cathedral, Wichita; and Church of the Magdalen, Wichita. As pastor he was assigned to Hamilton and Madison; Eureka continuing with Hamilton and Madison; St. Jude, Wichita; Resurrection, Wichita; and Clonmel. Because of his experience in construction work he served on the Diocesan Building Committee along with serving as chaplain to the Holy Family Center and Director of Cemeteries. He died on January 29, 1992 after suffering from cancer. Bishop Gerber was principal celebrant of his funeral Mass at St. Mary’s Cathedral on February 1, 1992. He was buried at Resurrection Cemetery in Wichita.
