Ministry with Persons with Disabilities

The mission of the Ministry with Persons with Disabilities is to help each parish keep all parishioners actively involved in parish life regardless of type, severity or age of onset of a disability.

Disability is a natural part of the human condition. Most of us will experience some type of disabling condition in our lifetime.

Recognizing that individuals with disabilities have a claim to our respect because they are persons, because they share in the one redemption of Christ, and because they contribute to our society by their activity within it, the Church must become an advocate for and with them.

The Voice of Ability Series

Take a look at this awesome series of articles: The Voice of Ability Series.  All people have the same needs and desires for relationships and for spiritual growth – persons with disabilities are no different. This series, written by persons with disabilities, allows us to learn about each other, to pray together, and to understand we are one flock under one shepherd. These articles are published regularly in the Catholic Advance.
